I did. I know where you're coming from I do find my GSXR easier to ride, but as a first bike I think I'd have been terrified of it. One of the things I like about the SV is that for me I found it confidence inspiring to ride when I first got it I think thats important for a newbie rider.

I would have loved a ZX6r as a first bike, specially that year you are looking at. However, I doubted they would be as usefull as the SV restricted, and also they where a little bit more expensive to buy and insure. So the SV won for me
But the earlier ZX6rs (before they got all racey racey) are IMO one of the best bikes money can buy. My uncle had 2, my dad's mate has one, a freind of mine had one, Sid squid has one, jambo has one great bikes cold blooded though apparently |

Have you ridden one or even sat on one? They're about the same on that score... far removed from modern stupidly-racy bikes.

Some good opinions there guys, thanks. I'm off on holiday in the morning but I've left a decent bid on a zx on ebay which ends during the week so I may have a bike when I get back. Otherwise it'll be back to looking at SVs and Ninjas next week.
I hope you all dont work too hard while I'm away ![]()
