I'm only going down the mway as far as stonehouse/larkhall, then cutting off for the more fun road to Moffat. Anybody who wants to try my way down is more than welcome to tag along..
im all for going this way as motorways suck but as we've to be in moffat for 10am, will we have the time.google map says 1hour 27 min coming off at stonehouse.

would love to have done this one but my Mother in law is really unwell and we are just waiting for the dreaded call so unless she picks up i need to be close for my wife. maybe the next one then.

on another note. the road we took for the ice cream run over Glenn Fruin was excelent today. thanks for showing me that road, what a blast.

enjoy and ride safe.

Most of them!

It's only another 15miles ish from Thornhill (K) back up the Dalveen Pass (which is a fine, fine road) to Elvanfoot, so if anyone peels off there, they'd only be missing a relatively short section.

That said - if you wanted to, (bearing in mind you'll have just done something in the region of 230 miles by this point...) you could cut across the Mennock Pass from Elvanfoot which takes you past Leadhills & Wanlockhead and back onto the A76 just south of Sanquhar.

Best bet would be to see how it's going on the day, but there are plenty of options to make the route longer / shorter depends on how we're doing.
