Yeah, I'm quite certain it does too... I think I even remember reading on the brochure before I bought my K3.

I am as sure as I can be without getting the tin opener out and ripping my old silencer apart. When I bought my bike brand new I was told by the dealer it had one and all the literature that I read about the sv said it had one, I'll go read my owners manual and double check if you like.

Can't see anything in the manual that says it has or has not got one.
K7 however gained an exhaust oxygen sensor, I guess this is a kind of lambda probe.

Yes, the K7 has a lambda sensor, but I'm uncertain as to how much variation this allows the ECU to adjust the mixture. It must be sufficient to curtail the emissions as that's the only reason this kind of system would have been fitted.

The K7 I think also has a twin-spark ignition... but that might not have appeared until the K8.

My K7 has no twin spark ignition. However, there is a sensor that looks like a spark plug going into the front cylinder that has me perplexed. Does anyone know the name of this sensor and what its function is? Will post a pic if it helps?

Lambda sensor. It senses level of oxygen in the exhaust gas. It's for fine control of fuel-air mixture at cruise.

Thanks YC. I'm still a bit confused as I thought the Lambda sensor was the plug that fitted directly into the exhaust, while this plug is on the front cylinder head. Hope you can clarify this for me?

Oh right, it's not lambda sensor then! Heh. Thought you meant the front cylinder downpipe... curse this skim reading habit.

Yeah a pic would be good. Or look on ronayers and point it out on a parts fiche?
