I didn't get any quotes cheaper than that :-/ Its with a 650 quid excess too.

I might have to do the IAM whatsit purely for the discount
Insurance is daylight robbery!

I'm with Carole Nash, I won't say how much I pay for comp on all 7 of my bikes because I'll get lynched.

I smashed my SV at 1pm this afternoon, at 3-30pm it was in my local dealers, via my house, courtesy of CN's recovery sub-contractors (who turned up in a purpose built bike recovery van driven by an utterly charming fully qualified Yamaha and Triumph techie). It's already being dealt with by Carole Nash and the dealer I have taken it to will be starting work on the estimate and arranging the repairs tomorrow.

That's the kind of service I've come to expect of Carole Nash.

P.s. the recovery guy may be buying an SV650 Sport soon, he lurks here.

Think I'll be moving to them then, despite being £40 more than Bennetts. Nobody seems to say nice things about Bennetts.

compare that to repairing a bike yourself if you bin it on your own, bearing in mind a lot od bike crashes are no one else involved!!

could you afford to repair it, or if it was written off and your fauld be happy you wont get any money for a new bike?? to me its false ecconomy

Having requested a quote with Carole Nash yesterday, they called me today to ask what I thought of it, and dropped another 10% off the price.

As this is a U rated forum, I shall refrain from making any comments about Bennetts.

40 quid extra doesn't even cover the cost of the breakdown and accident cover you get automagically with Carole Nash. If you were to try and buy the same cover elsewhere it would cost at least 90 quid, so you've in effect saved 50 quid if you were thinking of getting AA or RAC cover as well.

That's one of the reasons I renew with CN every time.

I'm fully comp, and I crashed. I didn't tell insurance for a few (in my opinion) very good reasons.
Nobody else was involved. No property was damaged. I'm already getting hammered for my insurance, I have 0ncb.. if I claimed, I'd have to pay the first 650quid anyway, and more than likely my bike would have been a write off. My premium would go up next year, and I'd still have 0 ncb. I can see perfectly why people go TPFT, especially if they're a year or two into having passed their test. As it happened, repair costs and excess were about the same anyway.
