LMAO, sorry I laughed a lot poor little Lozzo! An orange pip is bad enough but a sprouting one? Arrgh.

Can today be the day we hear about the cherry stone?

You'll have to wait for that one, I'm still traumatised by the ear-orange memory being dragged up

Got a blocked ear and the GP doc fished around with a hook/claw thing and promptly succeeded in pushing earwax into my eardrum denting it. Sent to nurse to syringe it...cue falling off chair sideways due to cold water used messing up delicate balance bone thingys in the ear. Had enough went home. Woke up during night with excruciating earache, ended up in hospital being given lots of drugs - pain did not stop, just did not care about it. Sent to Ear Nose and Throat part of hospital next day where they stuck hoover thingy down my ear and cleared the wax. ENT doc had a look and told me the drum was 'dented'.

Moral of the story? Go to ENT and get it hoovered, they know what they are doing. Don't let the quacks near it.

U can get a syringe ur ear, do it very carefully ur self. clean warm water. I swim a lot so do this about every 2 months. Dont stick any thing in ur ear or let a "normal" DOC do the same, I did ONCE..

Don`t be sticking cotton buds down your ear... will do more damage. Best option is as has been said olive oil down your ear morning and night, you can buy an ear dropper from chemist and is less messy or you can buy ear drops but they`re expensive and oil works just as well. You can have ears syringed but the practice nurse/District nurse won`t do it until you`ve used drops for at least 10 to 20 days (depends on the nurses protocol).

Ear syringing is painless when its done properly.. cold water should never be used and its only ever done under gentle pressure cos of risk of perforation to ear drum.

I`d say if there`s no improvement after 10 days with ear drops then go to GP and ask for appt for ear syringing. Good luck, did you hear all that or should I shout?

PS: Don`t (as one recent patient did) use lard... i told him to use olive oil but cos he had none he thought he could melt lard and use that instead... doh!!!

Oh and in answer to your original question I have known of one person who had a spider lay eggs in her ear canal and they hatched... but it happened abroad and was one of those weird tropical spiders

yuk and yuk

talking of spiders, they must know we're talking about them. I've just come back from a night out and I walk in my room and for some reason the first thing I looked at were the jeans on my bed and I saw something move.....

Have another look and voila, this little chappie thought he would grace me with his presence...well out the window he went, quick as a flash I'm fine with them, but why do thay have to move so FAST!

OMG...I WOULD have gone mental if a spider was in my room

i have purchased a spider hoover now. The only colour i could get was pink. It has a little flower trap on the top. Got it from superdrug. 5 quid!

Now the tube that extends from the motor to the catcher is only 30 cm....

that is way to close for comfort. So im looking for a longer hose to fit to the end so i dont get bit

Lmao, I just use the nearest glass/mug and something rigid and flat, was a coaster last night In retrospect though, I'm going to stick to using mugs, glasses are fine for big spiders as they don't tend to move much once in there but the one last night was a fast one and was scuttling all about the glass, I really didn't want to drop it
