Great fun going to find conkers & trying not to let the dogs hear you etc. Then running like mad when they did. Head to the block of flats as both doors open inwards, run in first door, let it swing shut, if the dog follows you, tough, run through the next door & pull it shut.

Never did find out how the flat owners coped with a p*d off guard dog in the corridor...

thats so cooool shame the mansion house behind my mums house was gone by the time i came to be. I remember them digging the foundations up when I was little......to put...yes you've guessed it...houses!!!They were absolutley huge, in fact I'm sure there was a giant digger in there at some poit and it looked tiny. Theres not even a trace of a photo or anything of it..I've searched everywhere and can't find much, apart from the name and where it was...which i knew anyway
