The race filters have less layers of cotton in the same as K+N are now doing for some bikes.
TBH on a stock bike (minitwin) you can do all sorts to the intake with filters, gauze etc but all you end up doing is putting bigger and bigger jets in, effecting the midrange and not really gaining any top end hp, a good clean oem filter and correct setup will make virtually the same power with better midrange. Unless your tuning the motor time and money can be spent elsewhere more effectively |

We still are the importers for BMC 205/10RS filters !
We have them on the shelf and will sell as a stand alone unit if required. But maximum power gains will not be achived without correct set up. jh www.jhsracing.co.uk |

To be honest i think I'm going to abandon the whole idea. I've been thinking about the £ per horse power ratio. The bike allready makes a touch over 70 at the back wheel running super lean with dynojet 144 mains( see graph ) Now I've sorted the fuel with some 160 mikunis and a de-snorkeling of my road it should be 71-72 rwhp. I'm thinking I'll get another 1-2 rwhp max for the £70 price of a new RS. So that's £70 for max 2 rwhp. I'm thinking bollox just ride it. £70 is the thick end of a track day next spring.

also if you dont already have it might be worth putting the r6 throttle tube on...expect youve seen the threads...obviously no extra power... but that split second it takes to adjust your hand to get the 1/4 turn to full throttle could see someone racing past on the inside and make the difference.... mine is going on at the weekend ![]() |

Yeah, it's not cheap power. If you're racing, sure, it might mean a win or a loss, that's a big deal. And if you're a daft enthusiast and you want to rejet it's generally worth doing as well as you can. But for most folks, it really just makes sense not to **** with it.
Cams is a good alternative- £100 at the minimum for a jet kit and filter, plus set up time, vs £130 for 2 K3 intake cams and the gaskets, for a bit more power, a nicer power curve, and no set up time. But even that doesn't make an awful lot of sense.

Where are the cams available from ? Direct from Suzuki ?
I've got a BMC Race RS in the post, £53 from JHS. I spoke to a very helpfull lady yesterday afternoon and it's now in a van on it's way to me. I really should take my own advice. I see this as a very slippery slope I'm starting on. I think I should buy shares in a dyno room. |

Yu can but it will be expensive. You can source them from breakers who are breaking damaged engines or on Ebay sometimes. Some even go as far as buying K3 engines just for the Cams and CCT's. |
