Dunno, I find it hard to imagine the concept of a total end to my own consciousness. I'm no fanatical believer, nor am I an atheist to the point of near hostility to those who do hold beliefs.
The one thing I do find curious is people blaming religion for the worlds ills, ignoring the good it does do. The good and the bad we are all just people, it doesn't matter what book you hide behind or denounce.

And I do wonder what an atheist thinks on their deathbed.

Yes....I am a Christian.
Attend a Baptist Church.
I don't go around shoving it on others or condeming them for their beliefs.
And I don't care what others think or say about it.

I view religous people like i view star trek convention visitors with a mixture of pity & mistrust.

Probably what death will feel like, tbh if all the people that claim they are going to "Heaven" end up in "Heaven" then you're better off in Hell with the cool people anyway, assuming you have chosen the correct God in the first place.

I have no particular views on religion and don`t attend church myself. However I accept that others are entitled to follow a religion of their choice and that they find great comfort from their faith.

However I work with a nurse who has a strong faith but recently seems to have become almost borderline "obsessed" with trying to convert her colleagues. She is also offering to say prayers and "bless" some of the patients she sees which in my view is inappropriate as I feel she should wait for the patient to first talk about religion before offering her blessings.

Yesterday it came to my attention that a nurse has been suspended for this very same thing so today i`m faced with the task of having to talk to her about it and ask her to be a bit more careful.

However I`m not convinced that it was right to suspend the nurse for offering to pray. After all I`m working in an area that has been told we have to allow time during the day for muslims to pray so are we not being slightly bias? The same nurse I work with sometimes goes down to the beach to pray which I admit to turning a blind eye to as in my view it would be discriminatory to allow a muslim time to pray but not a christian?

Until someone can catagorically prove the existance of a god/greater being/whatever, I will stay a none believer. However, if people choose to believe in a 'God', I respect that.
