My Salford nephew and his girlfriend produced a nipper when he was 14, she 13. His family had lived on benefits all his life and my initial thoughts were along the lines of what a wasted life and the circle turns.

It was a hard time for them. 18 years later, they are still together, He has worked full time since the day he left school and they have a further 3 kids, own their own home/car/bike etc.

Just because somebody makes a stupid mistake as a kid, don't condemn them. Hopefully as in the case of my nephew they can come out of this positively.

Indeed, it can be the making of them.

It might now even be his baby. Did anyone see the papers today? I didn't read it but the People had an aritcle on him wanting a DNA test. I hope it is his baby though, he doesn't look capable of it.

Now that does not surprise me at all.
My wife and I was talking about this yesterday, we both agreed that the girl has been sexually active long before the boy was.
We also recognised a familiar face. The girl looks like a couple of women we know that have had children at a very early age. Neither one of these women are exactly what you would call intelligent and they have never worked a day in their lives. I would hazard a very big guess that there is a genetic trait in there some where. I don't actually know much about the girls family other than it's large!
As for the boy, well he is young and has a family that lacks intelligence and common sense, but he may have a better chance in life now that he is in the public eye.
In my honest opinion.... neither one of them should be near that baby.
However I understand that they should be given the chance.
I hope the best for the baby and that the boy and girl grow up better than their parents.
