If you wash them the loose the ability to expand slowly. I tried it and found that when I rolled them up, they re-expanded before I could get them in my ear

they could I suppose, as they are only supposed to be disposable. Its a mandatory requirement at work to use them, and pulling plugs in and out over a 12 hr period every day, hasn't done any harm so far, although you are supposed to replace them every time you take them out for breaks etc, for hygiene reasons. At times i have them dangling around on the cord they are supplied on. so i could be putting in a plug thats been in the opposite ear, but as such, haven;t ever had an infection off them

+1 'cept I got mine from ebay. Use them half a dozen times or so then chuck 'em. Can't stand riding without them now.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LASER-LITE-FOA...1%7C240%3A1318

All in for £23.00. Its what I use and I used them for a few days before using a new pair with no probs.

I also have custom ones for work with the radio bit and mic added in them, however these hurt my ears after a days use.

I have never washed them, they just get binned when they are nasty.

Though I had a thought, if you ears are hurting ect then get it checked it out. I try to get ears looked at by a doctor at least once/year.

Not hurting, just ringing. Like I have just been to a nightclub or something.

Tinnitus, hearing damage. Permanent!

I wear Earsoft FX which are supposed to have the highest SNR (simplified noise reduction) of -39.

They are good if they are in properly, as it's wind noise that is the problem.

Get them here from this guy on ebay. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/duckpersuader/ Very good service.
