So you test rode a daytona and a street trip R and you werent impressed ?
Not a case of werent impressed but more a case of wasnt convincingly impressed. D675 far better than Trip R and easy to ride. The daft salesman sent me home to think it through, he was trying to push me onto a Trip R (can only imagine he thought it would suit me better as I turned up on a naked SV), if he had taken the money and sold me something I thought was good value i would be riding a 675! More the fool him trying to be clever!

Don't know how you came to this conclusion but I can guarantee that the current Triumphs will outlast all Jap bikes in termsof corrosion resistance and that includes Honda's which are far in front of Kawakas

Me neither! Build quality on mine is standing up better than my old similar aged old Yam. However that might be because I live/have been living in a part of the world with less rain than the UK. I clean the 675 more often and they don't throw salt on the road here the first time the temp drops below 10c!

A friend of mine has a Speed Triple that he has owned for four years he did no maintenance on that bike I met him at a Triumph dealer a few weeks ago as he had to have the rear spindle freed due corrosion as he had not done a thing to the bike. The bike looked in first class condition compared to my K8 Suzuki which was disolving in front of my eyes despite the use of ACF50. There is no suibstite for class and quality Triumph is the best bike on the market

Thanks - I'm genuinely interested cos I wants a Speed Triple
I was a little worried because some long term tests in magazines reckoned the D675 started to corrode quite quickly.

Great bikes. If I was buying a brand new "fun bike", it's what I'd go for.
