Especially at the spectacle of bikes actually going faster than cars. Probably send them all into a fit that big group of bikes doing more than 200rpm too

Taking a serious note…
How many people would be interested in going over there for a ride….
About 1 week…

1/tonyk

Enough people interested, we might try to make this happen ….
It is feasible ...and not just a wind up.

accommodation's .
There could be a serious response..
Where would the trip be, roads / places etc…
Would one week be enough ?...

Since there does seem to be some interest, I'll see what I can put together next week.
You could say I've had a little experiance in planning motorcycle events. LOL

Will get some costs first. Location of bike hire critical to planning.
The trip would be to western North Carolina. (mostly)
One week is enough.

More details later....

Crazy busy this weekend.
Son graduates school tomorrow.
Leading rideout on Saturday.
Graduation party at the house Sunday and some time I've got to go into work and do paperwork before Monday.

Will get on this first thing next week.

Finding a decent bike hire seems to be the chore...but prices all seem about the same.

Meals, fuel, lodging and bike hire would run about $300 USD per day.
(perhaps a bit less but I always plan for max expenses)
At todays exchange rate that would be about 184 GBP per day.

Truthfully it's looking as if 2010 would probably be best.

At the onset I was thinking more in terms of possibly a few individuals who might happen to pop over for a ride.

If we're looking at doing this as an .org rideout, setting a specific date a few months ahead of time makes more sense and would give more people time to prepare for such a trip.

Also if we're looking at a weeks worth of riding, I'd like to have every detail of each days ride already planned out . Ride route, fuel & food stops, etc.
If you're going to coming all the way to America to ride you deserve to get the most out of every day here.
The best roads, the best scenery, the best rides!

Like any .org ride this would be for riders of all skill levels.
If needed....There will be places on each ride for faster riders to jet ahead to the next stop. (maps of each days ride and stops will be provided)

But for those who can't wait till next year...( if it's only a few riders)...a trip with 3 full days of riding....I could do very easily...and still would be a trip to remember.

An .org rideout here in 2010 ??
That would be as cool as it gets!

I'd be up for it if the US Govt didnt want my fingerprint and retina scan first.

I had to go visit a friend from the US Navy while he was stationed in Sicily as i told him i wont come to see him when he moves back to Alabama. his wife and kids are over ehere next month so i get to see them again but who knows when i'll next see him, unless he comes here or Mr Obama decides to drop the pointless collection of innocent peoples biometric data...but i cant see that happening sadly.
