nah we're best mates in real life (well on the two occaisions we've met, we have been - I made dave a bacon sandwich the first time I met him, how nice am I!

+2 fenda extenda is a good idea, clips on the rear side of your front mudguard to stop water and crap being flicked off the wheel straight onto the front cylinder if you ride in the wet. Water + sparkplugs = nightmare

Dont bother with twin exhausts, get a nice single side one.

get crash bungs

fender extender is a good thing to fit, stops water being thrown up at the front cylinder and getting the sparkplug wet, inducing a mis-fire in the rain

get an optimate battery charger

remember to keep the bike clean, keep the chain clean and lubricated, and keep up with the servicing

Dont worry about fork swaps yet, or shock swaps - just concentrate on getting used to the bike. You wouldnt notice much of a adifferance yet anyway...i've done 18,000 miles on my bike (37,000 miles old) and its only now I know i need a new rear shock (after riding a much newer bandit lol). You might like to think about a taller screen aswell.

happy ownership and welcome to the .org

That'll be Kestrel Hoda then I'm guessing.

We're just down the road in Rugby.

Very often pop over to Market Harborough and the bike shop there to get a burger. Maybe meet you there some time.

Fenda extendas are about £20, i have a Pyramid plastics oneand had no problems with the wet.

Optimates and the like manage the battery unlike a normal charger which justs keeps on charging. Get one and the connectors so you just plug in without taking the battery out every time.

Does it have a hugger?, highly recomended to stop the crap getting on the shock.

some nice A-roads near you will be great to get used to your bike, a 06 should be injection which is ECU restriction i beleive, should of got one of them curvys alot better tbh.
If your likely to ride in rain/wet get a extender fender there cheap and lot better than the first cyclinder missing half way round a good bend.
