Er, back on topic? Plus you're making me feel ill...
The questions is how do you feel, and my answer is I've lost a lot of confidence. I binned it on the track a couple of years ago, not too sure why but probably just going too fast (simple answer). I had a good year last year and my riding got better, but earlier this year I binned it in exactly the same place, thanks to a muppet on a supermoto laying some oil mist out of his exhaust - 3 of us ended up in a heap. I know that logically it wasn't my fault, I was still only turning in, but it's put a hole in how I feel when I ride. I've got another track day at Oulton soon and I'm hoping that it'll help me get some practice back in, but yesterday at Silverstone I was turning in slowly and getting that feeling when you lean it right over. I think the only way it'll resolve itself is time and getting out there to ride it more. It's a crap feeling and made me really wonder if the bike is okay or not, have I pushed it father than it can go - in reality there's nothing wrong with it, I was grinding the LH peg at 70 last year on the track - it's mainly me. God knows if that help you or not. |

TLW summed my feelings I had after the off.
Realised what I should enjoy about riding should be getting home at the end of the day. How I felt about my bike afterwards was nothing really. It set on fire and I have never seen it again so can't really say how I would feel if I was riding it again. Never the less, Saturday is when I can get out on my Ducati for the first time and I honestly can't wait and have been counting down the days. Can't wait. Hopefully my riding wouldn't have been affected much just it will be at a lot slower and gentle smooth pace.

goody, a question i can answer and am now qualified to having laid my bike down for a rest going around/ or not as it happens a left hand bend, to tell the truth was gutted at the time because of the damadge wich in the cold light of day is not too bad, wing mirror indicator lense popped off so new indis for front, left lower fairing cracked scratched paint code yhj Candy Napolean Blue if anybody has one and left hand pegs bent in, bike is still rideable.
i was and still am more upset about it being my fault and i should have been able to get around the corner without going cross country, but whats done is done and you just have to get on with it, i can partly put it down to it being a new front tyre done about 50-60 miles befor it decided to go off roading. ce la vie. |
