Well it's had 500 miles put on going to and from work. Been in the back of a HD transit twice! The switch on the side stand went - unplugged so they picked it up and repaired it. The zort went rusty so called then Xmas eve again they picked it up kept it warm until the new year and replaced it. All under warrenty.

Apart from that it's well different to ride than the sv. It's a bit like a diesel car inthe fact you have to show it's whose the boss and not be to light handed with it. Treat it mean and it gets there very quick. Plus I've just hit the magic 500 miles for running the enginee in so I can take it past the 3k revs ( it only goes to 7k revs).

It's now a waiting game for the snow to clear and a few open roads. I need to take it on a long ride to really get a feel for it as the longest it's been is about 20 miles accross the Birmingham to uni.

Will report more once snow has gone. Have found a really good supplier of crashbobins on eBay. Made me a set to fit the bike, ended up free of. Charge ad the first set front and back axle sliders didn't fit, so full refund and new set dispatched.

Smile Re: End of the road for the SV....

The buell is great! Now the roads have been drier I can start to find its true ability. It does stick to the roads and turns so quickly - have to be careful I don't overstear or forget how fast I'm going. The wheel has lifted Agee times off the lights on the tyburn road, only a fraction of an inch no full on wheelies yet.

Things I want to change are the seat, a little bit wide for me and the indicators are also on the list along with a longer fly screen, 85 mph my head felt like it was being ripped off!

Don't think it's a keeper but for the next year or so it will put a grin on my face everytime I go out. It's not as practical for comuting as the sv was, but i'd prefer to grin at the end of the ride than be practical!

I'm looking for a nice XB12S/SS/SCG/STT now...

I'd love a black one with black frame & wheels etc!

I used to think my KTM handled well 'til i test rode a Buell!

Fingers crossed, hopefully I'll be back on two soon

Check out ukbeg.com similar to here but alot smaller.

Buells are nice but be aware of rusting cans and the cost of parts! There's also a split between the older tube frames xb's and the new water cooled rotax engines.

Read the forums, but go with what u like.

Hopefully I'll get one that someone has already put all the trick bits on; then I won't have to worry about rusty cans etc...

They sound the mutts with a aftermarket exhaust on

thats £600 of nice exhaust. The prices of these keep going up - a white lightning (older tube frame) recently went for close to 10K !
