It's for bike maintenance, rather than the rubber fetish (I have high quality PVC for that!)
Bought box of 100 from Aldi last week for just over £4. There are janotorial suppliers on the web that do an economy version for just over £2, and I think with delivery it brought it to £4.50 or there about. There are also First aid and medical supplies companies that sell in boxes of 100 from about £3.00.

Default Re: Latex gloves - Nitrile?

Even good quality latex gloves aren't resistant to fuel, oils, grease etc. As a retailler we can't even buy decent quality latex gloves for the prices mentioned.

Yes there are ways of reducing costs but you typically get what you pay for. Nitrile disposable gloves are 3 times more puncture resistant, more abrasion resistant than latex and are resistant to oils, grease, fuel etc for this reason they use nitrile for fuel lines. Can't argue that they are a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for so you won't have to use anywhere near as many gloves because they actually last longer. If anyone is interested, we can offer decent quality nitrile gloves in black as well as other colours so you also don't look like a girl when your working on your bike.

Sorry Tigersaw - Can't help where we're located. I don't mind sending samples if folks want to give them a try but seriously give the nitrile gloves a try. Much better option.

Do a Google search for disposable nitrile gloves - Screwfix do them as well as several other UK sites. Thanks for the tip Joahn - I'll look out for these when I run low on the box of latex ones I have in the garage.
