Besides the obvious bits like wheels and subframe, how did you get it so light?

Removal/replacement of subframes and swapping of forks are the biggest. Along with removal of the road going electrics[1] and things like the sidestand etc.

Mine (even without those very very very nice wheels) and the curvy frame (which is heavier than the pointy frame) is silly light in comparison to std.

[1] As an example I took out 1/2Kg from the NC35 wiring by having a 'racing' loom rather than stock. That's not including the weight lost from not having lights, indicators (and all the mountings for them), horn etc.

Fair enough Fastdruid, sounds good. I'd love to lighten my SV. Maybe once I get some money after all the things I have to pay for these days I can start pimping my bike a bit; I've only done one trackday (at Oulton) but there's no doubt in my mind it's something I want to do more often. I want to buy a cheapie road bike and track the SV.

I've never had it that stripped. I'm just going by Suzuki's claims that it is lighter.

Its tricky if you're keeping it as a road bike, best bet is to fit stuff designed for supersports stuff like the GSX-R but the heavy bits are SV specific and the lightweight versions are track only.

Well if I could get another roadbike I wouldn't mind making the SV track only, however if I wanted to ride it on the road all I'd need to do is stick a numberplate and the side stand back on
