I'd suggest contact lenses are worth a try- if they don't work, at least you gave it a go.

I find that when I take my lenses out and put specs back on, I feel a shade disoriented because the refraction of the lenses make the view move across my line of sight differently and it takes a second to get used to. This might affect things when you're riding too.

I get motion sickness as a passenger in cars- was terrible as a child, but it made a bit of a resurgence (though I tend not to throw up any more- so far!!). Maybe get your ears/balance checked, as it's often caused by your brain having trouble between what your inner ear's feeling and what you are actually seeing.

If it could be your kit pressing on your guts that's giving you the issue then try stick the bike on paddock stands and sit on it (maybe make some vroom vroom noises?) in all your kit but not helmet. That will tell you if it is the riding position pressures which are giving you mither.

There`s been some really excellent suggestions and I`m really grateful to you all. I think if it was an issue with my helmet then this nausea would have started some time ago as I`ve had my helmet for a couple of years now.

I`m really thinking now, having read all the posts on specs, that this is more than likely an eyesight issue. When riding home today I made a consistant effort to push myself away from the petrol tank and try to be a bit more upright but I still felt slightly nauseous. In honesty I`m not sure if I could wear contact lenses as I`m squeamish about things touching my eyes at the best of times. I think that i`m gonna have to risk looking a nerd and go back to the opticians with my helmet. If they won`t change the frames free of charge (as they`re only a couple of weeks old) I have my prx and will look at the websites suggested.

Most people are sensitive about things touching their eyes. You'll be surprised once you've got the hang of it the first few times...

Contact lens all the way .... I use them, and they are fantastic .... they don't steam up, they don't get dirty, don't fill you helmet ... and actually they keep the wind off your eyes strangely !!!

Also .... make sure you are getting air in the helmet .... I sometimes feel sick when I have the visor closed for too long ... open it up and get some fresh air in their ....

Don't wear anything too tight ....... and importantly - try not to worry about it ... worrying will only make you feel sick .... try wearing an I-pod or something for a few rides .... see if it takes your mind off it !!

Overall tho ..... I reckon if you start wearing contact lens, or get your vision sorted, you'll not feeling sick again ...

Well you defo wouldn't get over putting them things in your eyes. Opticians are used to geeks going in with helmets...try before you buy and all that!

I thought it was just me that got sick on the bike - I can't do the Dukes pass without puking at the other end! I now take Bucastem (used for travel sickness) if i know i'm going out for a ride i take 2 an hour before i set off. There is also the fact that you can be making yourself very nervous as you know what can happen - for this you can try a rescue remedy spray (chemists have this - non drug, completely natural) i took it before my test and it seemed to calm me down. All you can do is try one thing at a time and see how you get on and just relax and take your time, the last thing you want is to put yourself off going out for a ride.

All the best - hope you find a solution soon, before the good weather sets in
