Meh, I don't really give out many tickets, don't normally have much time for stopping cars with my workload.

TBH, it's probably not going to be the first thing you are stopped for but it is still an offence so if you chose to take that risk then you need to accept there is a possibility that you will get a ticket. I personally, unless there was real problems or other offences, would just issue a VREC.

The MOT doesn't include many things that a vehicle requires to be road legal. I believe it stems from a difference between MOT and VOSA regulations. It's been discussed on this forum quite a few times in the past.
