Winner End of story. tbh, its not a requirement by their religion, so why do they need it? They don't, its not against their laws or religions. I know englands cold, but come on FFS. It won't pass here, we're too happy looking after minoritys over majoritys. |

^whats your point?
Its just an item of clothing like any other. If there was a huge problem with women being forced to wear them then fair enough, but there isn't a huge problem as many want to where them. I personally think its rude to wear a full face garment of any kind in many situations, as we communicate with facial expressions as well as verbally. However, thats my opinion and i can choose to ignore anyone who addresses me in such a way. |

Point is, if I were in Dubai, I wouldn't go round wearing topless, swigging beer and copping off with my missis..
Respect the local culture of the country your in. They don't need to wear it. |

Some do and get arrested, but its clearly not allowed over there.
Its not an illegal garment here our culture is where what you like, and until now it wasnt illegal in belgium either. Obviously now it is they must go with the flow or peacefully protest, as we all do if we dont like a decision. |

Dress him in white robes, a pointy hat, with a burning cross as see how far he gets walking down the high street! I'm not a bleeding heart liberal, but get a grip people. You see all sorts of things being tolerated all over the world which would not be tolerated here, and vice-versa. We are talking about a piece of cloth as if it is a portent of doom. I'm pretty anti religion, but if it doesn't hurt me then I just don't care. It offends me more that people have such a thing about a piece of cloth rather than what it represents. |

Who cares about how backward other countries might be?Here our culture is liberal democracy and dictating what clothing people are allowed to wear isnt liberal democracy. Its actually lowest common denominator crass populism.

BB I take your point about freedom but it hasn't always been so. You must consider that the people wearing this garb are 1st or 2nd generation immigrants and are making no effort to integrate with the host country They want there own schools, teachers, laws, communities and religion and to speak English only as a second language so as they are in ever increasing numbers perhaps people feel a little bit intimidated

Keep religion completely seperate from the state (wording?), no religious schools, no exemptions from laws for religious groups etc etc. |

I say my opinion from having to speak to a fair few ladies dressed in the head gear, and it makes me feel most uncomfortable as you can only see eyes. Why should another countries religion make me feel uncomfortable in my own country?? If you want to live in a country, respect their laws and views, don't impose your own beliefs. You should bend to the culture, not the culture bend to you. |
