I remember someone putting their helmet on the floor tucked nicely under the bike. There was a rather big downpour of rain and he forgot to move his helmet. Oh how we did laugh when he picked it up and put it on. The water was pouring down the back of his neck as the fabric was squeezed when he put it on.

It's not like I'm going massively out of my way to ensure my lids not full of crap if chucking it on its side as opposed to it's base is pansyish what the hell's neatly looping it round the wuverly lidlock/mirror.

Possible wedding present?

Another problem with leaving your lid on the floor is any passing dogs may be inclined to **** a leg at it...

Always on gloves on the ground and the right way up, but with the warmer weather watch out for ants going into your lid. So if my helmet is on grass/earth I usually place it on gloves but up side down.
