Yeah put some of that in your engine, it will add at least 50bhp

To be fair I think running premium gives better mpg but only by a small amount. Not enough to justify the extra cost. My old aprilia rs125 and my gf's micra both did better mileage when run on optimax. (Yes I keep a track of what my bikes and cars mpg is as it's a good indicator for if anything is wrong) (yes I am sad and have too much too on my hands)

I get an extra 8-10% mpg with both bike and car using Shell V-Power. The only other fuel that seems to make a difference is Total Excellium.

That is the sort of difference I get between 91 and 95. I wouldn't expect that sort of difference again in going up another grade. The SV will be out for a run this weekend. I reckon I am going to have to run a couple of hundred litres of the high grade stuff over the next few months just to satisfy myself.

Want better efficiency... eat less pies. Though I did testing myself and in conclusion the only benefit was in the winter it helped reduce carb icing. Though this doesn't matter on the pointies, the cost cancels out any marginal benefit you might get.

If you really want the benefits of a higher RON number you need to increase the compression ratio and change the ignition map. This might be worth considering on a track bike where every BHP counts, but on the road it's irrelevant.

As the Grinch has pointed out, many of us would get better performance by spending the money on a subscription to Weigh****chers.

Keith.

P.S. Who put the t w a t in Weigh****chers?
