While changing a front tire on my 4x4 earlier in the week I noticed I had a split inner CV boot. Order up the inner and outer boots (might as well do both if the axle is coming out) and got it all apart last night. Once apart I inspected the outer CV joint and it's on its way out, so I decided I better replace it. I also spotted a tear in the lower ball joint boot, so its getting a new ball joint as well.

So my plan on the weekend is to lay on the ground under the truck, cursing and bashing knuckles, covered in grease and filth, and trying not to get any of it on my newly bricked drive. Then I have to pull two wheels, take them down to the tire shop and get new rubber fitted. Once that's done I can drive somewhere and get my alignment sorted.

Does that count for worst plans so far?

Tonight - fitting SRAD front end to SV - if parts have arrived.
Saturday - getting oily in the garage followed by beers/chinese
Sunday - Edinburgh for lunch then on the beer for the afternoon. Simply Red at the Castle (Mrs TamSV's mothers day gift). More beers. Then I'll be bringing down the tone in the Rutland Hotel until they stop serving me.
Monday - Full Scottish breakfast at the Rutland. Why is everyone looking at me?

Today/Tonight - working at the Test at Lord's

Tomorrow - if the game lasts that long I said I would streak on the 5th day, so really hoping it will be all over this afternoon - no streak and a day off

Sunday - Essex v Middlesex T20 cricket - my two teams up against each other so a difficult match to know who to support
