Why are bikes so expensive now? In 2003 I bought a brand new CBR 600 for £5000. Where did it all go wrong?

Global economics, eastern countries economies getting more advanced so overheads go up, oil prices affect EVERYTHING as well.
So, basically to sum up, they want more money for less

I think this guy would be up for it:

You need new glasses! It may have Triumph styling cues, but it's a BMW that's been Triumphised!

There hasn't been a more blatant BMW rip off since the Moto Guzzi Stelvio.

I'd still rather have a KTM.

Unfortunately, if anyone builds a largeish semi-off roader then it will inevitably be classed as a BMW rip-off purely because BMW built the first proper tall-roader when they started making the GS range many years ago. As styling has evolved over the years it's been harder to make your own mark on the motorcycling world and anything you design will look like something that's already been built. There's only so much you can do thats new and is marketable

I guess all the offroad slating of the 1050 tiger must have got to them.
Does that mean the 1050 tiger is no more as it was an awsome road tourer.
I road tested a 955 tiger a few months ago round the lakes to see if my knackered back would be better with a sit up n beg position but It was worse for me.
The fetal race position feels way more compfortable I just wish someone made a bike with clipons but low footpegs.
I ended up buying a Triumph speed four for compfort how crazy is that?

Although I suspect the deafening response means no-one here knows.
From the little amount I've read and seen it is a pretty much a bored out 675 engine.

I can tell you no more than that as I would have to er... make it up.
