Its fine to want to try, and indeed to have something bigger, but with an insurance bill of that magnitude, I think you have rocks in yer head!
i have a few apprenticeships lined up, thats how i will be able to afford it

You spend all that money on SV then don't go and see what it can do?

Good sports tourer but there are much better ones out there, even the old ZX6 does all that better. ZZR6 or 11 even better still.

Sure get one if you want one, but if it was a "heart" purchase then why are you asking us? Grow a pair We are not going to justify your decisions when there are more sensible things to do, like burning large quantities of petrol, rubber and sliders going round in a circle for no reason.
id love to track the sv but i cant afford it to be off the road if i bin it, specially at the moment as im travelling to go and see race teams

ohh and my heart is not set on one, theres a few other bikes like tuono's, zx6r j2, zx9r in the same style zx636 2004 (although i bet that its to small for me) mt-01 so im no just set on the 12r

So buy a £500 GSXR750 to track and when you get bored enter streetfighter racing

Exactly but...

Perhaps the fact that you'll either be going a lot faster than you realise or that a handful of throttle on a litre bike coming out of a corner could easily land you in the doo doo in comparison to the SV.

None, just more plastics to explode on contact.
Or fact that you don't have to twitch your wrist much at high rpm to have a big highside.

I just don't see point of these hypersports bikes, except that they make good, effortless tourers on motorways if you have lots to spend on petrol and tyres.

^^he secretly lusts after one, but is too 'Julian' to take Peg up on his offer of a go on the bus And no they're only expensive on tyres and fuel, if you don't use the warp speed drive button and ride like Mr Sulu
He also refuses to admit, that they also handle exceptionally well off a motorway

of course, Chris will always say this, as hes tighter than a gnats ar$e!
