Yet the insurance company wanted 45% of book value for the salvage, which was around £1900. It gives you an idea of how much the salvage is worth on certain models.
I was quite frankly shocked at how much they wanted for salvage, a friend pranged an RVF400 and thanks to a new fairing for one of those now being over 2k it was initially deemed a write-off!

The insurance company wanted 1k for the salvage on a bike they were prepared to pay 2.5k for (although valued at 3k, the lesson learnt here is don't undervalue your bike!) I took a look to see if it could be fixed with some stratigic second hand parts (due to being under insured and not going to get the same bike as a replacement out of it) but tragically the frame was broken.

Still, I can be happy in the knowledge that the breaker won't get 1k out of it with no engine, frame, fairing and front wheel.

As I mentioned above, the resprayed every last bit of the bike, even if it was not involved or damaged because of the collision.

They also replaced the old micron exhaust which was crushed with a scorpion can... which IMHO looks better because it's pointy and matches the back end of the bike. Also sounds and looks better too hehe

Thanks for everyone and their advice on this thread btw

Excellent! Now, if a bike ever needed a seat cowl and a tail tidy...

Not sure what you mean, but if you're suggesting I should get a passenger seat cowl then I don't think that would be appropriate since the mrs is very regularly on the back of my bike hehe.

That's exactly what I was suggesting, that and a tail tidy (a new bracket for your number plate and indicators, that gets rid of that massive bit of plastic hanging out the back).

The seat cowl is not permanent you know, it clips on and off just the same as the pillion seat. Lots of people who carry pillions have a seat cowl, and put the seat back on when they need it, it takes no longer to do that than flicking the pillion pegs down for them.

The bike has had a seat cowl fitted at some point in the past (I assuming you didn't get it with the bike?), because you have the spacer brackets covering where the pillion grab rail would normally have been. Trouble is the bike has been resprayed, so would a Suzuki painted seat cowl still match?

Seat cowl and spacers

Seat and grab rail (this one has a triboseat grippy cover which comes highly recommended for pillions. My wife never needed it on the plastic SV seat, but on the leather one on my Daytona, she slides all over the shop and wants one)

Unless your Daytona seat has been recovered or changed for a different one from the one it left the factory with, it has a plastic seat cover. No-one except that American manufacturer of large capacity piles of... Oh sorry, Wow has p1ssed off to the feminist forums now... Harley uses leather as a seat covering material any more because it soaks up water.

It may look like leather, but believe me it's not.

It's an aftermarket gel seat, it'll never see rain, wifey doesn't go in the rain.
