Why do you think I ended up with three, because both SVs were worth their weight in gold. Dave earned his stripes over and over, twas sad to let that one go

Nope. But still on first bike!

Gixxer600 or 750 next, most probably. Or S3 if I ever get naked.

I had a 1971 Honda CB750-4, but in 1994 it was great looking with those chrome 4-into-4 exhausts. I got it after all my surgery and rehab from previous bike accidents. It was heavy and a pig to ride compared to all my mates on gixers and ZXRs. Not that slow, but spoked wheels got a bit of a weave on at speed.

Traded it on an early gixer and just concentrated on throttle control to keep myself out of any more ambulances.

Might be worth selling the extras separately, might lessen the losses.

Sadly I'm well aware I'm going to make a hefty loss , but I'd sooner lose £1.5k on the parts i've bought and be happy... Than be sat and home thinking I can't be bothered getting the bike out which is the situation I keep finding myself in at the moment.

I don't want to take any parts off as they are what make it such a good spec and will hopefully help it sell quickly. I'd rather lose some money and sell quickly than be stuck with it all summer and not enjoy my riding.

Furry muff G, seems you're determined

Shame I'm not after an expensive 3rd bike, I wouldn't mind one of them

G, I think your decision is about right, if you no longer wet yourself or salivate when you open the garage door when seeking "riding" pleasure, move on.

My only suggestion would be to have a choice of bike for what ever mood/style suits for the day, as you know, I now have a baby Monster which for my very mature years makes up my line-up, yes not all new but a choice thats cost effective.

+1, I was having a great laugh blatting the 43bhp £1500 XT600 through country lanes on my way home for green laning with Phil last Saturday (until I hit a suicidal pheasant which was rather sore!). Roads that were just too small to enjoy on anything else, 'cos the bumps would have been the thing I noticed most, but the XT just soaks them up, and roads where 70mph has the hedges flying past you, and locals out walking the dog hating you!

It's been refined over the years, but the basic design of my 56 plate £3000 Daytona 955 dates from the T595 made in 1997. I love it!

Manufacturers have been making great bikes for years. If you want a great litre jap sportsbike, why not go seek out a 2004-2007 Fireblade, or a 2004-2006 GSXR1000 (though owning a 955 and being honest, you might be better off with a GSXR750), then with the spare change go get yourself a supermoto as well.

Yes and no! only owned two bikes, the SV, and now the ZZR, i love the ZZR, it does everything i need it to.

Has two wheels not 4! loads of room for 2 up riding, and is still really good fun when on my own, and good for long trips.

However i settled for the 1200 as the bike is currently still out on the road under cover not in garage, and i didn't have the cash to spend loads on another bike, however because of this, everytime i see a ZZR1400 or a bussa, i always think to myself......i wish i had that instead!

But there is my progerssion for the next bike, once we move house, and i at last have my garage! i will flog the 1200 and purchase me a nice 1400! and if i am really lucky something else to go along with it!!

Only had the SV1k 6 months. Off the road for three of those through the worst of the winter equated to only 750 miles on it! I found it to be less comfortable on the wrists than my curvy, and as for the fuel consumption!
Even so, I absolutely loved her, but couldn't justify keeping her. I don't get out as much now as little Jack is taking up a major part of my time. What with gigging abroad every two weeks and working full time too, I never seem to get a free day. It's gone to a good home with someone from the sv-portal who is well pleased and has already got a list of mods!It was a sad day yesterday when he rode off on her! It's probably the sound of those Yoshis that I'll miss the most.

On the upside I'm "downgrading" to a GSXR 600 . K4 but on an 07 plate
2 owners from new and only 4500 miles. Got it from a woman at work who found the riding position a bit focussed for commuting. Got it at a very respectable price. Pick it up in a week. Needs a bit of spit and polish but mechanically it's spot on.
Roll on the very few days I get off in the summer
