cheapest, reliable, fairly quick responses, will cover you as a person in or on any vehicle, and ask for optional plus they will collect after an accident..
That's what I use, and crucially for me under the European cover they give you a replacement vehicle and recover yours straight back to the UK if they can't get it going, not to a foreign garage. Last time that happened to me it was in the foreign garage for 3 months!

Carole Nash quoted £800 or so AFTER I was haggling with them. What it is, is they get a price from underwriter and stick their commission on top. After that any discount you get is coming out of their cut. Also then they stick a big extra commission on top for renewals, hoping you'll just renew it blindly as so many do, so the first thing they will move on is the renewal extra, then they move a little more out of their commission. So yeah you've got 25% discount from your renewals price... but they aren't going to reduce my quote by 50%.
By the way how much was comparable cover from other companies for you?

Simply I did not fit into the target customer for their underwriters at time, if the underwriters say the insurance costs £600, it is not going to get cheaper than that whatever you try and haggle the broker down to.

But we're off topic, as interesting as the rules of the insurance game are, the bike is already covered, I need some fackin breakdown cover, so how much was your RAC cover? Do you need to name the specific vehicles you own or just name the drivers or what?
Maybe they have seen your bike and thought this lad doesn't give a c..p what he hits, scrapes or leans on? sorry lol.

I'm with the AA and get a massive discount due to where the misses works, which is great. But I have got Roadside, Relay, Home Start and Breakdown Repair Cover.

It is great! the Breakdown Repair Cover covers our two cars and my bike and I have claimed three times on it now £500 twice and £260 once, so it has definately paid for itself over the last three years.

Only thing is, if the accident is your fault you have to pay for them to get you I think...

Maybe they already class it as beyond reasonable repair
