It's more of an all rounder I'm after buddy so the older hardcore commuters aren't what I'm after. Heard the dullsville's are great commuters though

Don't think FZ8 is an option really... They're quite costly and the mpg is not that great. For the FZ8 money, you can get a Bandit 1250 SA, which gets similar mpg, has great torque and won't be as expensive to service... I think they really missed the boat on the FZ8. I really like the Fazer version and it looks right on the money with the engine, but those costs are just not justified...
For the same money he could get a Sprint 1050 / Tiger / Speed Triple which would float the boat just as well. Oh, and while we're at suggestions, maybe you could sell the CBR600RR and get the new CBR600F... It seems to make sense, it fills both roles and you don't have to keep two bikes (not that there's anything wrong with that, just thinking cost-wise...) |

My first suggestion was the new CBR600F, functional, comfy version of what the OP has....

The 600F would be a good shout but having read a few reviews it's a bit more of an entry level big bike.
Might have a go on a BMW K1300R as it's a mental looking bit of kit. |

Handling/brakes etc are pretty reasonable, comfy, good weather protection, very very easy to ride, but make no mistake they are made of sliced white bread through and through. If you hanker for the odd granary loaf with sesame seed topping, then the Deau won't do it for you. If you could justify one just for your commute and something else for the weekend, you could do a lot lot worse.
