I think they eventually changed the part design in 07/08 and its a £600 repair for one PCB and sensor (i think)

There is nothing new here.
34 years ago when I was a boy my friend's Dad had an Audi and my Clarkson-like Father often make accusations of onanism about the bloke related to his car choice. Having said that my Dad was a Rover driver and those were the real man's car of the time (or at least so my Dad said ![]() Nice car Fizz. |

The link explains how the data was measured and what it means. It is data from Warranty Direct based upon how many claims they pay out, so relates to cars over 3 years old. Warrant Direct is one of the biggest aftermarket warranty suppliers, so they can provide meaningful data.
I think I was unlucky with my 3 series (E46 320d Touring), it was in for about 10 different claims under manufacturers warranty, from water leaks to broken seat mechanisms, to electrics, then one week after it's third birthday the turbo collapsed and the engine went cataclysmic, £8300 repair bill. Having said I was unlucky, out of about 20 BMW's in my office in that 3 year period, there were about 8 turbo failures. The fuel pumps, both low pressure as with your car, and high pressure on the twin turbo diesels, seem to be the latest major issue. No car should be left with a fault that could either be dangerous, or leave you stranded at the side of the motorway, when it's a common fault that the manufacturer knows all about. BMW are very reluctant to issue expensive recalls. Last edited by -Ralph-; 07-10-11 at 08:14 AM. |

I'll stick with my free Vivaro Van ta very much. Get as much as i like in it and i don't pay for a bloody thing on it. Which is why i can afford my Triple now too
![]() So shove your audi's and beemers but both are as bad as each other for company car drivers but don't argue with the vivaro. |

I'm going to add thats its not just Audi's & BNW's but also blingy Range Rover and Landrover drivers who are just as bad.
But not general Landie & Range Rover drivers but mums on the school run, with their Prada handbags, etc and Company CEO's on their way to a meeting intimdating you as they sit up your chuff at 85. Note to Dizzy & Stretchie the reference to Landie divers does not mean you ![]()

![]() Brothers got BMW 118, its nice to look at, can only fit two people in the back(personally I wouldn't have got it having two kids to ferry about, and the occasionaly 3rd), gearbox is really poor and feels fragile, my mothers Y reg Ford Focus seems better!! Not worth the money and a bit disappointing.....good job its one of those company lease thingies that you swap every three years.
