Thanks everyone

My lovely man flued up fella became a plastic surgeon last night and patched her up as best he could, she's ready to ride again yey The rev counter is fubar'd, as much plastic as was available was superglued back together, all the cracks in the inside plastic were filled up with black silicon and what's left of the housing has been screwed back on as it will keep the worst of the rain off. Will have to wait and see if any condensation appears...So I have a rev counter without the needle, doesn't look so bad Rest of the clocks seem fine.

I also have a new gear shifter, consisting of a nice bolt with a few shiny nuts on it, the blingest bit on the bike! Slowly but surely YC's Beast is rubbing off on mine...can you turn a yellow bike black?

I'm a bit sore this morning but the hot bath last night did take the edge off

With experience of what noises your bike makes, a rev counter ends up being in your head rather than in front of you, its just nice to have it there once in a while.

You can ride without a fixer peg, just wedge you boot below the gear changer, its hard without the actual changer/fixer peg but its definitely do-able if you need to get home! Talking from experience.

Glad you okish and GWS. Nothing a few jars won't cure.

I think I would have tried if I was in the middle of nowhere and had to wait on my own for recovery but I was in a very busy town with 13 miles to get home, and there are so many traffic lights on the way home I would have ended up doing something stupid so didn't want to risk it. Plus we've paid for a recovery service so might as well use it!

Sorry to hear this, glad you're ok though.

Sounds like this hasn't put you off, and you'll be riding again in no time

Put me off? Nah, it was only a little slide! Nowt like a bit of tarmac surfing to wake one up in the morning I've had worse on the 125, I'm just so happy and grateful it wasn't worse, it so easily could have been.
