How. does. it. know?

Vacuum pal,
The vacuum is vacant, therefore none conductive. With no ability to conduct heat there is reduced heat loss and as such the content stays warm. If you were to fill it with a cold drink then you'd have the same effect inverted.

Priceless!

If someone drives into the back of you while your merging because they don't know what the duck their doing then they would have to be in the right hand lane because as you statedthe car in the left hand lane has allowed you in so that lane is now blocked.
If you were stationary and someone drove into your front corner I doubt it would be 100% your fault given that the slow moving car on the left could have stopped easily.

That is a really different kettle of fish to you saying "if you overtake traffic perfectly legally it is definitively your fault if you have an accident when merging"

Oh shiit. Sorry mate. I was in the same position not so long ago. Just a metal stud on the windscreen where a mirror should have been.

Rang VW and they said £55. For a bit of glass and plastic. I was very upset.
