Which engine cover is that? I suspect it's the ignition rotor/pickup. If yes, then the engine turning hex is under there on the ignition rotor, and as such the cover will need removing when the bike is serviced to turn the engine when setting the valve clearances, it's probably not had the gasket replaced and thus weeps a bit.

That's if it's the cover I think it is anyway.

Unless it's weeing out it's unsightly rather than problematic. The gasket is easy to replace if you're concerned about it.
