We are dreading the car insurance when it comes in February. I won't say how much it is, as its hefty. Even though my OH is main driver, and has maximum no claims, been driving for over 20 years, they penalise me for being a driver of 2 years and being aged 35! So now with the female equality thing, its going to be even more extortionate than it already is. It wouldn't matter if we only had the Citroen, or a Micra, they penalise me on any motor.

However, now going into my 8th year of NCB on the bikes, being aged 36 in Jan, it will be interesting come May. Both are on Classic insurance fully comp. Bearing in mind the VRap is in a particularly high group, this yrs premium, was £217 with £120 excess!
Pegs just renewed his for the ZZR, and that went up by 50 odd quid, to £220, 5yrs+NCB, at age 42.

Everybody is getting hit, no matter the age or NCB.

Agy, you do realise that TPFT is not always the cheapest option !.

Go on comparison website, choose comprehensive. After retrieving the quotes select TPFT to get prices - you'll be surprised to see they're not always cheaper.

Which comparison sites do you use?

Have you tried http://www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk/ ?

Just to weigh in here, I passed my test in Jan-12 - first bike is my current '03 SV650. Insurance was just over £300.00, just re-insured with Hastings direct for £13.57 per month.

Fully Comp, No Excess and Kit cover. I'm 26, one years No Claims - but being married, , home-owner, having children, living out of town, bike parked in garage on private property all help lower your risk!

Ah that makes more sense! It's my postcode for sure then! I'm in Battersea

Alright, good luck! Remember, when it comes close to your renewal date, make sure you talk to your current insurer on the phone and say you've had much cheaper quotes elsewhere
