Pretty sure you don't have to display it now anyway. That is providing you can show it immediately when asked. So under the seat/in toolkit will do

Mine's showing through the middle gap in the fairing (on the inside of the fairing, attached to a radiator/fairing bolt)

Chain guard.
Need a tiny socket and allen key to get the disc itself out of the holder and a screwdriver to remove the holder, so I'm not worried. In 27 years of riding I've never had one nicked. Replacements are free - one of the chaps at work had one fall off and just applied via a form. I know your status can be checked in seconds now but why add to the Rozzer's workload by not displaying?
