Broke three spikes off my spine when I slipped off the kickstart of a 250LC in my mate's shed, I kinda rolled under the bike when my nuts hit the fuel tank and the bike fell on top of me. I'd have been alright if I hadn't left an impact driver on the floor of the shed, it stuck in my back. When I got to hospital they found the removable Phillips head bit stuck between two vertebrae. The three broken spikes are now held together by a short metal rod. Trying to explain that one of my worst motorcycle related injuries was caused by a bike that wasn't even running and couldn't even move more than two feet is a bit difficult.

I now put my tools away as I work and never leave them on the floor.

My daftest one was falling of my skateboard when I was about 9 and sliding about 15ft on my right leg on Tarmac in shorts. Had a massive scab down the outside of my thigh for about 1 month

When I was a teenager we thought it would be a good idea to tie one end of a rope to a post in the ground and the other to the saddle of our bikes. The idea was to ride away at full speed and then when the rope bought the bike up short perform a handstand over the handlebars.... Several mates performed it perfectly. When it was my turn instead of the bike stopping the post came out of the ground. It is quite amazing how hard a two foot length of 4" post can hit you when propelled by a 20 foot piece of nylon rope at full stretch......

As a lad I worked in a tyre garage. Was carrying a tractor battery - one of those big buggers with the handles on the sides - against my body not knowing it was leaking badly. Once I realised the lower half of my body was dripping in battery acid I immediately washed off my overalls with water and then carried on what I was doing.

Of course, the acid had soaked through. At first I just felt a tingle in my nether regions which become increasingly more urgent.

Pulled open my overalls to reveal my rapidly disintegrating jeans and began to get worried.

We had a big water trough at the vehicle entrance to the garage used for tracing punctures. Passers by were treated to the sight of a young TamSV, trousers at ankles, sat bathing his nuts in it.
