Personally I feel that having rear view cameras etc. could reduce the amount a biker would need to be physically aware of his surroundings, which could make them lazy. Maybe not for the experienced rider. I think it would give a very fake sense of security and safety, which I don't think bodes well with being on two wheels.. not a fan.

That's a good point.. although in a lot of situations, it would be too dangerous for you to turn around to look where mirrors
show you, although you'd need to see that area before manoeuvring. So I'd say mirrors are pretty important - although I
would like to see the opinion of those who have bikes without mirrors.

You could then argue that a helmet with a rear view camera is surely just like the mirror in this sense, just with a superior
view and less effort needed from you as the rider to see. But then I feel it could stop the need for a biker to be
alert and highly focused on everything around them, more trust would be placed in the camera then the amount of trust you
place on mirrors. After checking mirrors, obviously you need to life safe check, but with a full view of your rear maybe you'd
stop doing this, and before you know you're a lazy rider who doesn't look around him and is maybe complacent?

Obviously this is really hypothetical, I'd like to see an argument against it! Like I said before, if a rider is experienced I don't
think a helmet like this would really change their riding at all, it would just be an added safety measure. But if the rider was
very inexperienced I think it would be quick to give them a false sense of security.

I'd just use it as an additional input.
Si on the 675 forum has no mirrors and commutes round the M25. So it's not impossible to survive without them.
Perifirial view is helpful when something pops up in your mirrors, so hopefully it work for the lid. But not likely to replace the lifesaver

But this is what I mean, for someone who is an experienced rider I don't think it's a problem but I think if it became a mainstream
thing for helmets then before long when prices decrease it might be really common, then you could have a lot of complacent young riders!

I don't think I could cope without mirrors.. I thought it was weird enough having mirrors on handlebars on the cg125 I did my test on.
Suppose I could get used to it, but I reckon I'm sticking with faired bikes for quite some time

I've heard the same, I've heard it's very good to build you skill by starting on crappy bikes which things go wrong on.
Without all the electronics too. Although they can make things an awful lot less stressful..

I'm not be moaning ABS etc, just if you are regularly encounter it's intervention then you have no "out " if shat comes to bust".
I'd have been happy to let the electronics take over weds when I had to slam on a brakes for Mr Blue Van. But I do realise it was my mistake to rely on the fact that they were going to obey the rules and wait at the junction.
A rear view lid would have been a handy addition to check no one had sneaked up behind me after a few changes of underwear
