No idea to be honest. The 125 just wouldn't start without special preparation and wouldn't idle at the right speed. It would die if it dropped below about 2.5k rpm.

One of the projects, we were fairly sure had rusted the pistons to the cylinders as it wouldn't budge for anything. We even tried attaching a big ass bar to the fly wheel and pulling it with a car. For reference, not a good idea.

Hopefully if this one had been prepared for storage properly and kept inside it should be OK.

Did you get it started?

No not started yet. Want to flush tank out and check the carb. He's sure the carb was run dry on last use. Will do that sometime this week. Don't beleive it was prepped properly thou. Engine turns over by hand ok. Need to install the new battery also. Fingers crossed ay.

Did jobs tonight on bike, Well. Flushed carb with some fresh juice, give plug a quick clean, had her running but would not tick over well at all. Would Rev fairly cleanly once warm. But still no tick over when choke of and engine speed on carb all the way up. Then found some bloody oil running down from top of rocker cover. Found the one bolt for the cover loose, tried to tight up but it was already stripped. And think carb needs a good clean. Try and put Heli coil in cylinder head for the stripped bolt. See if that sorts the running out.

Hi Rapidgaz, whats the R1 like compared to your sv? Ive got an sv650s k2 at the moment and a ccm604 but looking to sell to get an 05' R1. I'm 6''2'' tall and the sv is comfy but small ish. Along with the obvious power difference the seat height is a fair bit taller would I be right in saying? I also ride abroad usually once a year so need to be bearable to do some distance, any advice? cheers.

Hi mills. R1 compared to the sv, more comfy for sure. I get bad groin ache the following day after riding the sv, I get none so far on the r1. Wrists are less of a problem also. It's easier to ride on country roads as the torque is just astonishing so less gear changing if that's how you want to ride. It's not to bad on fuel, not as good as the sv but not that bad. Seat height don't seem much difference as I had jacked my l2 up. It's no heavier to move around so all in all a top bike. Not missing the sv at all now. Still a top bike thou. Hope that helps. What's a ccm604.
