Not been without a bike in 32 years and can honestly say its the most fun/forgiving/audibly satisfying two wheeler I've owned within that time. Had many a multi and a couple of twins including an XS 650 and Bonnie 750 and is the match of either in character (especially when the rose tinted specs are off thinking of the Bonnie) Love the power delivery and the way it pulls outta corners --- u don't need to be 80 plus to put a smile on the face

What a great bike! Just got home from touring/camping to Avignon and back via some tight mountain roads. The SV proved to be nimble, comfortable, economical, confidence inspiring, musical, and gutsy. Love it!

Thanks for the info - this was a worry of mine as the Strom does look top-heavy.
I sat on a V-Strom a couple of weeks back. It's a lovely bike (compared to the few other models that I've sat on), but I'm 5'7. My feet didn't sit flat on the floor and so it didn't feel like a comfortable position to be in.

If I wanted something for touring, then I could probably get used to having one foot down, but I was looking for a commuting bike and something easy to filter on.

As to why I like the SV? I've been on a RV125, Gladius and a curvy SV. All have their plus points. I was going to buy a CB500, but there's something special about the sound of a V-twin.

Stick some gsxr front forks on it and an aftermarket rear suspension, and im talking 15-16 year old bike, and watch the modern day stuff try and keep with you round the corners, funny as ....

Love mine to bits nigh on idot/right fist proof handles on rails and love the power delivery.

First bike I have bought in ten years due to a nasty accident, but after track daying my bruvs on loan went out and bought a curvy to enjoy our local track.

Sod straight line speed, theres always some one who can do a few more mph when stood up (ask the idle biker lol)

the SV is a more than capable bike with nice bouncy bits but its no match for a proper SS in the right hands. its down to the rider.
