Check the routing of the cables as well, as it shouldn't do that

Yeah it's odd, noticed it last week. Is there a wiring diagram of where it should go, so I can compare?

Update, took the bike to my local bike garage in passing.
He says that there is usually quite a few vibrations/buzz around 6k rpm onward and that it is the nature of Vtwins. He also said it is running as sweet as a nut! Basically he had a listen for anything on toward gave it a few revs and said it sounds and feels exactly the same as another SV they currently are doing work on. |

If it was crank, or anything knocking (Upper of lower) you would hear it. We have a Renault with big ends going so know what it sounds like.
The bikes pulls fine, and after the oil/filter and plug change it runs so much better. Maybe it didn't notice, but the vibes are from 6k onwards - getting more as the rpms increase. 5k and below I don't really notice, in 1st at 3k there is a little bit more, but it evens out. The chain does need adjusting though. Does that sound about right? I'm, a bit of a whittler! |

I was going to say check your rear chain adjustment/alignment. I built a bike with a misalignment of 1/16" and it vibed like a bugger but after shimming was super smooth.

As the bike still vibrates when stationary the rear chain etc are red herrings, I would suspect ignition / spark plugs - especially as you say it does not want to start easily.

I replaced all the sparkplugs and made sure they where in properly. The bike starts on the button every time now!
The starting issues where because of the battery. ![]() |
