This sounds like a good one, what was his argument?

What you want to do is go down to your local tool shop, and get a medium sized pair of side cutters. Then when you stop someone for with a phone, take it appart, take out the sim card and snip it in two, hand the pieces back and drive away. It'll stop him doing it again in the near future.

should see you right.

The police are like the rest of us some are ok some are w**kers trouble is the ratio is different (more w**kers). I have at least 8 mates in the police including a couple of Sergeants. The nearly all have aftermarket cans & have been known to roll the throttle back. I go to "bike wise" an event at Durhams Aykley heads police headquarters & training college. I have to admit the seem to have the respect of the biking community there, probably because they make the effort to know there "customers" & use common sense. Its a different story in Northumbria the chief inspectors brain child is operation fireblade (though he races bikes on a track). I think he took the huff about 6 years ago after reading Northumberland has the best roads for road racing in Bike magazine. So through my experiences I like Durham polices attitude to (wait for it) all motorists, but hate Northumbria polices attitude / ignorance / persecution to motorcyclists even my mates in the force will agree to that.

The trouble is a percentage of the police aren't that bright & don't have any common sense.

i was giving a guy a bollocking for speeding next to the runway, and this chap (who shall stay nameless :P) drove passt me in his Vauxhall Vectra chatting on his mobile. I waved for him to put it down but he just blanked me , so i finshed my bollocking and blue lighted it after the Vectra driver. He was still on the phone (this is a real pet hate of mine) he looked at me all sheepish and said oops, oops i said is that all you can say your driving past a police officer whilst on the phone and driving and OOOPS. Ohh i saw you wave so i put the phone down, so asked him why he was still on the phone when i caught up with him, "ermmmm id just picked it up off hte seat when you arrived . A ticket and a ban from driving on base followed.
Regards

Akula

Brings back memories Akula... Mine used to be phones & the use of bleedin' fog lights (for no apparent reason) - what is it with car drivers & fog lights

Give 'em both barrels son

Yup... my two pet hates, drivers who:

1) talk on mobile phones while driving, and

2) Have fog lights on when it's not foggy - this is worst in the wet, as twice as much light gets reflected off the wet road surface towards other drivers - blinding them.

This really really really really gets on my tits!!! If someone would lend me a truncheon, i'd be happy to take some of the load off our obviously overstretched police force

You'll hear it one day, if you've not heard it already. Someone will try it on.

I walked to the doctors this morning (I have a chest infection ) and being that I came straight from working a night, I was still in uniform, anyhow the traffic had stopped at the traffic lights (bear with me) and traffic had begun to accumulate. I then saw a car screech to a halt, narrowly avoiding running into a stationary car, low and behold the silly bird was on her mobile!! So I went over gave her the what for.. (She apologised profusely) I then continued to walk down the road and passed another 2 women chatting on their mobiles and a white van man doing just the same! Of course I had a word with them as well….
It was their lucky day; I could have issued a total of £120 worth of tickets in the space of 2 minutes.
I suppose if I had been in the same mood as Akula the other day (see previous posts) then I am sure they would have got it with both barrels…and then some!

Anyhow time for much needed sleep

Regards

Fraser
