The gear? Don't waste your time. This is the most god-awful cheapo trash I've ever laid eyes on. The bloke next to me looking at the £5.99 tank bag, said "at this price you can't go wrong can you?" - wrong!

The gloves are plastic, honestly. Protection? I think not.

The boots are rubber, no armour whatsoever and are expensive for what they are.

The jacket? Oh how I laughed (while thinking that I'd just spent four quid in fuel to get there), complete crap.

So for those optimistic souls that haven't twigged yet: DON'T BOTHER!!!

There again, I suppose that should have been obvious from the start really .

Agree about the boots, gloves and jacket but not about the bag. Seems
perfectly OK to me. Also, I couldn't find anything seriously wrong with
the back protector or the maps.

As to the gloves, last year they were much cheaper (£5). Last year's
gloves are a combination of synthetic material and leather with some basic
armour. I use that pair as a reserve, for situations when the main pair is
wet + I give them to my pillions.

Can't really say because I wasn't interested in those. Sorry.

Or the maps? They're the main thing I want...
The set of maps seems to be OK. There are 12 of them covering the UK
and Ireland, and are made of a plastic-type material (apparently, you can
write on them and then wipe the writing off). Will save me the trouble
of tearing pages out of a road atlas.

They also show bike meets.

ah well, I've just been
Very strange shopping experience - the misfits of society walking around mumbling to themselves.

Right, down to business

Back Protector - looks OK, fits OK, CE approved, so can't be too bad. Mrs Toad will comment further should she ever have to use it in anger

Knee Warmers - appear to do just that, Mrs Toad will confirm in time

Battery Charger - all sold out

Kidney Belt - er, it's a kidney belt
I was expecting something with a pocket that you could put things in, but no it's just a belt - there are no pockets - WHY . Why would anyone want one of these
It has a detachable furry lining If you want one and are coming to Soho this Friday, I'll swap for a large Latte

Tank Bag - cheap & cheerful, looks no worse than the one I currently have , which is an Oxford 1stTime bag, and cost £30. Has a zip off base with clear cover, so can easily be used to put maps in. Worth it for this alone

Hands Free set for motorbikes Mrs Toad to comment. If all else fails, I'm sure the kids will get £5 worth of fun out of it

The jacket, boots & gloves did look very cheap & nasty, so the less said about them the better

The guy in the queue behind me bought a horse blanket. It was raining when I got outside. He put the blanket on

Got me one of these too. I've seen magnetic map holders for more money than this entire thing was. In fairness the first one i picked up (thought i'd be clever and go for one that wasnt opened) proved how crap it could be as one of the zips was just stitched in really badly. Went back in and changed it. Seems fine now.

Yup got one of these two. Already tried talking into one while i have the earpice of the other in. In the front room whispering sweet nothings to myself. The music does not cut out when you speak i discovered.... but for a fiver its safer than having to try to listen to the pillion telling me something.
