Ditto to what has already been said.
Report it to police to cover your **** and because she committed a traffic offence. You'll be given a self reporting collision accident report to fill out. Tell your insurance company. Get a couple of quotes for the damage. Go see your G.P. as you may have picked up an injury you dont about. And most important - keep hold of any evidence you may have. If you were given the registration of the 3rd party then keep it as it will count as an original note in any prosecution / claim. Take some photos of the damage. Keep hold of the paint on your can. Hope you are ok. |

hi matey
I had a similar thing happen to me back in October. Whilst i was travelling along the A1 in Bedfordshire some knobber just pulled out on me and i went down like a sack of.... Needless to say the lowlife never stopped and due to the fact that everyone else was busy avoiding me as i rolled down the road, nobody got a registration. Firstly report this incident as everyone else has said, why should people get away with this. You could have been killed! Secondly there is a government setup insurance fund called Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) that deal with this kind of thing. Report it to your insurance company although from experience it is a long drawn out process and many solicitors don't want to touch it. My insurance company got me a quality solicitor and if you want the details then drop me a line and i'll pass them on. Glad you're ok and i guess that's the main thing, but make 'em pay!!! |

What has been said and----You need to inform your insurance but tell them you are not claiming against your policy.You should ultimately claim from the other driver's insurance if you can.This should have minimal or no effect on your renewal premium.The Police report will be crucial to this.

People who edge forward on lights really pee me off, it's almost as though they think you are going to hold them up. I don't mind if they do it for sport (eg the guy in the 3000GT the other day - I just did enough to edge in front of him - I guess about 6 second 0-60) I hate the ones who would rather run over your toes than give you an inch |

An interesting tip I was told by the IAM lot, when you filter to the front of the lights, do one of two things;
either stay between the adjacent vehicles or Get your self well and truly in front of the nearest vehicle (ie position yourself in their immediate path, not off to the side) It means they will miss you completely as you are beside them, or, shunt you in the ****. Reduces the chances of you being hurt (not your bike unfortunately) and they lose the excuse that they didnt see you. |
