What ever happened to Creamybuttery? didnt he have a speeding case coming up?

Anyone know what the outcome of his was? From what i remember he'd been waiting ages for a court date.

Not hitting the guy who pulled up on the LHS of the road in front of me, and as I started to overtake decided he needed to be on the other side of the road.

Fortunately my brakes & instinct worked. He apologised and I never shouted at him.

I just hope he learnt to look properly before manouevring in the future. But I am sure a kevlar armoured glove in the face would have reinforced the think bike lecture I delivered to him.

There is ultimately no clear cut rule of law for speeding. There are "guidelines" about what an officer should do at any given speed, but at the end of the day they have that wonderful thing called "discretion". Meaning that they can effectively do with you as they please. Thats why some people get lesser sentences (fixed penalty) and others get taken to Court for it. Each case is different - obviously.

I know what i got in my experience, which is obviously different to what other people may have received for higher/lower speeds etc. There is no rhythem nor ryhme to the penalties dished out.
Agreed.

Sometimes, its better to ignore the ass hole coppers who can give real attitude and go straight to the courts.

Usually the officer wont be at court so its easier to go and explain your actions.

6 points, £400 fine for my above speeds! No ban.

Yep. Maximimum fine is "only" £1000 on dual carriageways as opposed to £2500 on motorways. I'm glad it was a dual carriageway rather than a motorway that I got caught (allegedly) doing over a ton on (in a Corsa too, Daimo). Hopefully it should make them inclined to be a bit more lenient than if it had been on a motorway, although, as you say, I can't see why exactly.

Dual Carrirage Main trunk road. Speed limit is 70mph. Its my fault I shouldnt have been speeding.

Theres a good article in MCN this week about using a template letter on www.pepipoo.com to get off the offense. I think I might find out more about doing that.
If you still had only 2 cylinders you would have been doing 45 :P

Bad luck mate just hope he cocked it up somehow or was just setting up fingers crossed

nah If I had been on the SV I would have been going a damn site faster. Still running the GSXR in you see

I think if its 3 points I'll take it on the chin and just put up with it. I got a quote for insurance assuming I get another 3 points and it puts it up £20 or so.

I'm seriously considering getting a radar detector fitted to the bike now though

(and paynig more attention)

Most stupid thing I have done today was 30 seconds ago:-

Microsoft Excel - Do you wish to save changes to Book 2 (where Book 2 is the spreadsheet I have just spent 1 hour discussing with my boss and updating).

Guess what I pressed in a hurry to poke off home
