Its more than likely emmisions. I know a few states are very strict. This is more than likely the reason considering dual spark would be better for burning more fuel under combustion. So that they can have one model for the US rather than two.

Yep, true. It's a big change for one region though, I'd assumed it'd go worldwide. There's someone on Socal tuning who's going to try tuning one to see what happens Get rid of the V-strom soft cams and take it from there. Could be interesting...

Surely there should be news of this in the next few weeks as the new 07 models are starting to appear in the mags now. Hoping that they preview it at the NEC as i'll be off there. Not interested in buying one from new but if its an improvement on the current model, then i might consider a used buy in 08.

The US K7's in dealers now, apparently, along with a K7 thou.

I see the new 2007 SV650 gets an ABS option and twin spark plugs on each cylinder. But I am still not 100% if they have stopped the 1000.

Nah, not heard anything about that. SV Rider denounces all IL4s

So.... that means you have to dry both of the backstards out when there is a drop of rain floating about somewhere?
Sweeeeet.
Ah no. Both of those things sound like a good idea. Bugger to service the ABS though.

Can't be- Raptors and Rockets says it'll be 700cc

SV650Racer reckoned that the UK-spec K7 Vstrom 650s didn't get the twin-spark head. And it looks like the US K7 SVs don't get it but the UK spec ones do? That's just getting confusing

edit: Ah, US site has been amended, now it shows the SV as twin spark too.
