I'll tell you what was really holding me back going fast on my naked for long periods of time was the noise. I think my helmet is really whistly, but as soon as I got some ear plugs, I can cruise at about 94-100 mph quite happily, it makes a really big difference. Muscularly its no problem. I also find my sv vibrates at about 86-89 mph, and so I ride either 82 or 92 usually.
Out of interest, what speed do people here usually ride at on the motorway? I guess I usually go about 82-94 mph. |

As everyone has said already it'll slow you down but not for long though.
After riding my 955i for 8 months then blasting around on Nuttys Raptor it hardly slowed me down at all Got the Raptor up to 140 but couldn't keep it there long ![]()

I've found one thing that really does slow me down now- motorway riding without earplugs. Or rather, riding with them speedds me up. Just went up and down the M9 today at, eh, well, not saying really. But too fast. Usually a mixture of mechanical sympathy, and the ridiculous wind noise from my lid (Arai: Good helmets, ***** vents) keeps me down a bit.

It definitely slows you down, mostly due to the wind noise, even with plugs. On my bandit 650 last year I found it easy to cruise up the M4 at 120, (too easy). I could tell I was annoying the guy on the brand new Fazer 1000 that I was keeping up with mind!
