Hello Guys,

Thanks for all the advice

I'll be looking for reviews of all the bikes mentioned.

I think the best advice was stick with it and see if i get used to it. I ordered some v-strom hand guards to fit for the winter. I don't care how crap they look, and come march they will be straight off and hidden in the back in the shed.

I'm also going to look for one one those big givi screens, but to be honest, i do seem to be getting slightly more used to the wind blast already. And maybe keeping it below 90 might not be such a bad idea anyway if i want to be sure of making it to spring.

I can't remember who made the comment about not being ready for a sprint st - but is probably a good point. I'll stick with what I've got for a year, get some riding experience, and by then, I'll prolly know enough to make a better choice.

This will be the only time I say this................stick with the SV mate, once you are used to it you will love it. Bad time of year for most bikes really but us naked riders (ooh) get the worst. Try getting some heated grips and a little screen and you'll be fine.

I think that you have been offered some great advice already on here but if you decide that after the winter it is still not suiting you then may be a few test rides are in order to see what does before making your mind up on a different bike.

I hope that it gets easier and you start to love the SV

you could try some bar mitts, had them when I despatched for a while and they made winter trips no problem. ditto the small screen.

I think the problem is that you bought a bike for winter commutes of 2 hours on a motorway! That is never fun! I commute 60 miles a day on a motorway on my naked K3, and in the summer it is no fun. Now in winter, I just take my girlfriends car. Wear earplugs, they help a lot. And you do get used to the buffetting, but seriously, it is not using a bike for what they are meant for; curves, acceleration and filtering. I'd stick with your SV for fun and use a car for a long motorway commute.
