You'd think so, wouldn't you. On a R1 it just looks wrong and immediately attracts attention. On a bonneville, it just looks like a classic plate on a classic bike and you're less likely to pay close attention to the number on the plate. It's a case of hiding in plain sight. LIke I said, it took me a while to realise that the Thruxton I saw with one was a modern Triumph and I've ridden one. Yer average plod probably would be taken in by it.

Don't forget the DVLA own the reg number, you just sort of rent it by paying the registration fee. If you do get a plate like that and keep getting fines, you could get reported to the DVLA who can take the plate back which means you would have to buy a new reg number and re register the bike! nightmare when you come to sell the bike later......DON'T DO IT

soul kiss you may have a plan however i think that the housing department and the local DVLA might find it odd that god knows how many hundred people are living in a 3 bedhouse.
Number plates overhere if i remember are likely owned by the person cos to trade low digit plates (cars normally have 5 and bikes 4) you pay the other party the money not the DVLA. confused!! |

sorry mate just dont want you all excited just to be brought down with a thud by the damn authorities i like the ideas though and on the plus side if your bike was registered over here at least it would mean you would have to have a 2 week break every 6 months
