The B6003 can be a bit of a pain, it can be nose to tail with slow moving cars, like-wise the B606 bit, though it is easier to make progress on that stretch. I'm with you all the way on the rest though and the B664 is worth the trip out on its own.

I'm up for a blast out, as long as you don't go too quick.

Hi Guys,

Right then...here goes, it seems like the erm...."Rutland Ring" (see posted map above B6047-B664-B6033-B606) is a popular choice so we shall go with that route if that's OK.

There are some services at the A1 / A605 junction at Peterborough. This would be an ideal place to meet up, then it would be a short blast up the A1 to the A47. I would like to do this as early as we can, about 7 ish (or 6 ish would be nice). I like the idea of clear roads and clear skies. But this is open to debate.

I don't know they way to the Ring, so would like someone else to take the lead.

Anyone going from Norfolk/Ely we could perhaps meets up at Downham Market and ride over to Peterborough together.

Cheers, BBD.

We get back from Austria late-ish the Sunday before, but subject to us not being saddle-sore, having a bit of cash and rubber left.................we'll be there

Dunno if you'll get many takers THAT early in the morning though.

The Rutland ring? I will have to check what time my mate's BBQ starts then.

I will try and pop up the A1 to Peterborough services to say hi to everyone at the start even if I can't do the rideout.

Rutland is west of Peterborough, you could take the A47 towards Leicester and you will hit the mid point of the route.

The start time is up for debate, I just love getting out early on summer mornings.

My mate's BBQ isn't til about 2pm so I could be up for this (If I can be bothered get up early enough and travel 2hrs up the A1 cos I have to work the previous night).

I have lost my little booklet but there's a PDF on post 9 of the linked thread.

The booklet says 55miles and suggests a couple of hours (but that might be a bit wrong)

Britain's Top 50 Riding Routes.

I suggest people attending print out route 8, I will bring a couple of spare copies if I attend.

Actually looking at this thread. Is anyone going to be attending?
