But doesn't it strike anyone as odd that there would be a fire UNDER the car, rather than in it? Did someone open the door, lean out & light a match?

A civillian helped police hold one of the occupants of the car to the floor - this occupant was burnt quite severely. I sincerely hope for both the civillian and the police that the suspiscion was right. Pinning down an innocent, injured man would be a terrible thing to do!

I'm sorry, but EVERYTHING I have seen so far is merely circumstantial, and as such, wouldn't stand up in court.

Someone before commented about sensationalist media.
Well, to be fair I wasn't there when it happened so everything I know about it has come directly from the media. I don't treat anything from them as gospel but you can't deny the fact that someone drove a jeep into the main door of the terminal building at Glasgow airport. I go there a lot, that's a helluva left hand swing to get it there. According to eyewitness reports on Scotland Today the burnt man fought the police off as they tried to restrain him while screaming "Allah" at the top of his lungs before attempting to return to the burning vehicle which was loaded with petrol cans and gas canisters.

Lynsey McBean, who was at the terminal, said one of the men took out a plastic gasoline canister and poured a liquid under the car. "He then set light to it," said McBean, 26, from Erskine, Scotland. She said the Jeep struck the front door of the airport but got jammed. "They were obviously trying to get it further inside the airport as the wheels were spinning and smoke was coming from them," she said.
If that's circumstantial then holy crap, was he having a bad day...

Oh, and no. I certainly don't believe all Asian men are terrorists. I feel bad for the innocents caught up in this, after all, not every Muslim condones this sort of thing. It's just the handful of brainwashed radicals who get everyone tarred with the same brush and there's nothing they can do about it.

Baph man, in some cases, yes we need more evidence and shouldn't jump to conclusions, but in this case I think it is fairly obvious!

Someone that's depressed could easily do something like that, does that make them a terrorist too?

Sorry, but genuinely link the people at the scene to some terror network or similar, then it was a terrorist attempt.

Before that it's just a flaming jeep that drove into a door.

Bloody armatures.

I mean, at least when we had the London bombings in the late 80s/90's they did it properly! I mean these guys can’t even drive a car into a building and cause a fire!.

F_S, as I'm sure you're more than aware, if someone is depressed to the extent of taking their own life, the last thing on their mind is the life of anyone else.

Great thread, although I don't know how some negotiate roundabouts when so clearly leaning to the left!

Assuming it wasn't just bad luck and a mechanical problem (rofl) - who suspects that Glasgow was targeted because it's Gordon Brown's home town? I did, then I looked up where he was born because I didn't know - and hey presto, whadda ya know!

Symantics.

Remember Cho Seung-Hui, the south Korean lad who shot loads of his fellow students. A note written by Cho was found in his dorm room that railed against "rich kids," "debauchery" and "deceitful charlatans" on campus. Later this was backed up by the video that he had produced in advance.

He wasn't a terrorist in the commonly used sense, but what he did, and how he went about it meet with the dictionary's first two definitions of the word terrorist;

1.a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism.
2.a person who terrorizes or frightens others.

Perhaps he was ill, perhaps he was depressed - but a terrorist none the less.

Exactly my point. He was classified by the media as "mentally unstable" whereas the people in Glasgow are being branded "terrorists" before anyone knows the full story.

A saying springs to mind:

"Iz it coz I iz black?"

I just see a band wagon being jumped on, without it being necessary.
